Camping Amsterdam Gaasper

This was a wonderful campsite. Great service, a great pitch and really clean facilities. Despite being quite near to busy roads, it was quiet, and the surroundings were wonderful. One can take lovely walks in the woods and round the Gaasper lake. It was a 45 minute cycle ride into Amsterdam. We took our own bikes but you can rent bikes on site. The metro is only a stone's throw away from the site if you are not too keen on the prospect of cycling into the city. All in all a thoroughly positive experience and definitely one to be repeated!

The location of the site in relation to access to Amsterdam is superb. The metro station is a short distance away. The site is clean and well kept. Pitches are reasonable size, drains well and the grass is kept short. Control of the arrival queue was executed well on the day we arrived. The shop has basic groceries. The facilities are clean but given the number of pitches you could wait to use them a good while in high season. My criticism of the site and mediocre star rating concerns the lack of accessible toilets and showers. I find it unusual that in 2024 and especially on such a large site that there are no toilet or showering facilities for those in a wheelchair or whose mobility is impaired. It is a personal thing but I also find sites that have additional charges for showers in the form of tokens annoying. There is also a charge for hot water for dish washing. So while the benefits of the site are clear it does not get 5 stars from me.

We loved our stay at the camp. Was clean, spacious and peaceful. There was nice restaurant open for dinner and supermarket in the morning and afternoon. You can rent a bike from there and go discover the city of Amsterdam. Most of all were the people who work there. Big smiles, friendly faces that makes you wanna go back🥰
