Uxa Paraíso - Open Air Hotel

We originally enquired with a view to staying here for a week on July. The photos certainly make this seem a LOT nicer than the reality. The approach road to describe it as easily accessible for any vehicle is hugely misleading and the "roads" around the site are no better. We grounded out our camper on exiting the site and using the access road. We arrived to what I would describe as a new age commune type environment. The pool is no more than a large paddling pool. The views that people eschew are limited by vegetation and the orientation of pitches. The pitches themselves are tiny and uneven and many you can't reach the electricity points unless you have at least two cables to join together. Access tracks around the site are steep and poorly made. If you are an off grid explorer looking for a heath Robinson type base with literally no more than a scrubby patch on which to camp then you may like it. Our experience at Uxa Paraíso was nothing short of wonderful. Julien, our exceptional host, created a true gem nestled within nature. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for an unforgettable time. The tranquil surroundings, combined with Julien's warm hospitality, made our stay truly magical. We had the time of our lives and left with cherished memories that will stay with us forever.

If you love nature this is THE place to be during your holidays. Julien is a fantastic host - a tiny pool and a nice bar make your experience a relaxing one as well. The dog can be nasty but playing with her helps making friends. We were on of the first campers staying uphill - offering beautiful views and a lovely sunset.
