Camping La Prairie

Super campsite for everyone! Whether you want to camp in a tent, a campervan or rent a beautiful cabin! Super clean sanitary buildings, friendly staff and a short walk to a nice village. Quiet and really nice, we will definitely come back!

I booked a pitch with electricity at this campground in advance (solo traveler with a car and small tent). I paid €20 a night. They also have some really nice looking cabins (which I did not book). The campground was recently refurbished and looks brand new, well kept and clean. Staff is friendly and also speaks English. Wifi is available against a small surcharge. Distance to the restrooms and showers is good. Shower water temperature is good and water flow decent. They have showers and restrooms for disabled people as well. The campground is located within the town with the waterfront and restaurants about a 15 minute walk away and a supermarket at about 5 minute walking distance. Conveniently located, with a lot of the D-Day sites about a half hour drive away. Mont Saint Michel is about a 90 minute drive from here. They have a pizza foodtruck set up in the weekends I think, which has a 5 star rating on Google Maps. I did not eat there because it was gone when I wanted to get a pizza. My only negat (...)

After calling ahead and being told I could not make a reservation for camping with a tent and no electricity, I arrived but was sent away because the campsite was full. After I said I only had a very small tent for one person I was still sent away even though it was late and I needed a place to sleep. It was my first solo camping trip on my motorcycle and a rough start. Luckily I found another campsite (also full) that was gracious enough to let me set up my tent in a field.
