Loch Ard Forest Car Park

Great spot for fresh air and a stroll. We went in January and it was busy (best to arrive early for parking). We took the Lochan Spling route and it was easy with beautiful lochside views.

Free car park. The car park is pretty big and has 2 overflow carparcs, all free of charge. This car park is a great start for any of the walking routes in the area. All of them are marked and well maintained. At the entrance of the carpark there is also a. Information board with information over all the routes. The carpark has to picnic tables, one of which is surrounded by tall trees, so it is in the shadows most of the day.

Absolutely amazing, very peaceful, beautiful walk. You can hear the birds everywhere, which is nice. 1 thing I would say is that there should be more of the posts with the colours of the path you choose to walk. The other part is, yes, you can get a wheelchair their, but I definitely would not recommend it. The path is steep at some places, and it is full of gravel. Other than that, take a photo of the map to walk around since the phone loses signal.
