The campsite, Camping Route 66, offers a traditional US-style camping experience with animals such as horses, pigs, and sheep roaming freely. There are toilet facilities and new showers available for a small fee, but the internet connection is unreliable within the camper area, although it is better near the office. It is important to note that dogs are not permitted to roam freely due to the presence of numerous stray animals.

Planned to stay on this campsite for 2 nights, but liked it so much we stayed another night. It’s very relaxed - you can park where you like with plenty of space. There are geese, hens, sheep, horses and pigs roaming free and two ostriches in a pen. There are toilets and showers - one of each for men and women - it’s basic but clean and shower’s hot. Price is very good at 10 euros a night. Shower is 50 cents. Use of washing machine 4 euros. Chantal is friendly and speaks English. We’ll stay again when we’re next in Portugal.

Guided by all these good reviews we spent the night here. The lady that runs the camping is very nice, she gave us a good price and was very gentle, but the place needs some serious updating. The showers aren't very clean and the are next to the toilets, so you can imagine the smell. The sinks are outside of the showers and toilets, so they smell very bad also.. If you are with your own camper and you do not have to use the bathroom and you are on a budget this is the place for you! Also, the bar inside has only drinks, so if you want to eat you have to go in town where you do not have much choice.. We were camping with a tent and as we were in a hurry we did not see that near us there was a colony of ants, but luckily they did not get into the tent! If you have a tent look carefully before placing it because the ground is very tough, so it will be very hard to hammer down the nails of the tent. It is far west themed, so it would be fun for the kids and there are a lot of animals roaming around, but if (...)

Most beautiful spot in Portugal probably if you are into a spacious absolutely not crowded camping site with lots of animals roaming around freely. So peaceful, moderately priced. The lady running the place is very friendly and there even is a little bar serving sangria and other drinks. "Family atmosphere" were you can have a chat with other travelers. Highly recommend.
