Proctors Stead Caravan Park

Stayed at the campsite 3 nights in April. We’ve been a regular there for forty years. It’s been taken over recently so we were a bit apprehensive but were so pleased to see the changes that had been made. Many new hard standings, very welcome given the weather this spring and a new access road to the hard standings by the facilities. The toilet/ facilities block has been refurbished and is very smart now and as always very, very clean. The stock in the shop, the standard items plus more, has a great new addition. It’s now licensed and with a great wine & beer selection. Ready chilled! Congratulations to the new owners who’ve made some great changes without spoiling the site in any way.

We are just completing a three nights stay with our three dogs in our camper van. Extremely pleased with the Proctors Stead Caravan Park, from the initial booking process, to the welcome from reception on our arrival, where a very pleasant member of their staff then escorted us to our pitch and then gave us some visiting tips for the nearby area. Our pitch (in the far field) was perfect for us, with good space and privacy. The showers and toilets areas were absolutely spotless, with the electric showers giving out good warmth and power of water. Nearby, at reception, they sell some basic essentials, including wine, beer, crisps etc. Somebody in a previous review was critical of the amount of instructional type signage around the site, which they saw as somehow negative. We had no absolutely problem with it. These types of signs, when adhered to, make the camping experience fair and enjoyable for all - dog owners and not. We stayed for 2 nights, the site was immaculately kept, facilities very clean, very well set out. Staff on site very friendly and helpful. Location wise there is a lovely pub in the village, its about 20 minute walk into Craster. Will definitely return.
